Modi Classes at Sathaye College - A Certificate Course in the Modi script is about to start at Sathaye College on 10th February 2017 on the initiative of the History Department of Sathaye College and Modi Lipi Samvardhan Sanstha. The sources of Maratha history as well as old property deals are available in Modi script. There is a great demand for Modi experts for the transliteration of the documents mentioned above. The certificate course has been launched to respond to the above demand. Apart from a good grounding in the reading and writing of Modi script, the course comprises of instructions in Hindu and Muslim calendars and the weaponry during Shivaji’s times. Duration - The duration of the certificate course will be ten days / 20 hours. Eligibility - The admission will be open to all those with the knowledge of Marathi language. Faculty - Mr. Dnyandeo Bandkar, the teaching faculty of the certificate course (the founder of Modi Lipi Samvardhan Sanstha) is a well-known Modi translator and is often summoned in the court to give testimony regarding Modi documents.
